About Halal Japan

halaljapan.app is the official website of the Halal Japan app — the halal food scanner for Japan, published by K-UBE on theApp Store and Google Play.

What we do

Halal Japan answers one question — "can I eat this?" — for Muslims standing in Japanese konbini, supermarkets and street markets. Scan any barcode and the app reads the Japanese ingredient label for you: an instant halal verdict with the flagged ingredients, a confidence score, and the reasoning behind the call, aligned with JAKIM MS1500 guidance. Beyond the scanner, the app checks street food from a photo, finds halal and Muslim-friendly restaurants nearby, and translates your food questions into Japanese by voice.

Most of our users travel in from Malaysia, Indonesia and Singapore or live in Japan year-round. This website is the app's free companion: guides to eating halal at konbini and in Tokyo, Osaka and Kyoto, a 30+ question FAQ, and — coming soon — verified product pages you can search from the web.
